Abstract:
Dynamic capacity of reservoir plays a vital role in real time flood forecasting of the river-type reservoir. In this study, an one-dimensional dynamic capacity flood regulating model for Feilaixia reservoir is developed by use of the centric finite volume method. Based on Riemann approximate solution method, the HLLC format is used to calculate the interface flux, and therefore the space synchronis and accuracy of numerical solution are improved. The Feilaixia reservoir flood characteristics under 16 designed flood conditions of four typical years are analized by use of the developed dynamic capacity flood regulating model. Compared with the static capacity flood regulating calculation, the Feilaixia dynamic capacity flood regulation results show that the dynamic capacity significantly affects river-type reservoir flood routing. The dynamic capacity flood regulating model of Feilaixia reservoir could be applied to the flood control decision of other river-type reservoirs in the future.
