Application of a risk analysis method in urban flood control planning

Based on the stochastic differential equation, a comparison of the effects of various engineering measures on the urban flood control planning for Liuyang City, Hunan Province, is carried out by using risk analysis method. And a new concept that equal reliability is more effective in the design of dike height for flood control is thus developed.
