Abstract: This article is based on the consideration of strengthening dam safety and management,emphasizing the importance of improving dam safety monitoring, reviewing the history and the present condition of dam safety monitoring in China. Also introduces briefly a real-time dam safety monitoring system in China, and at last gives advice about strengthening dam safety monitoring.
