Analysis of bore propagation and calculation of bore speed

  • 摘要: 本文首先在理论上对涌潮现象进行了分析,指出通常使用的涌潮波速计算公式,尽管是建立在连续方程和动量方程基础之上,但对于近岸浅水涌潮的传播问题并不适用。为此,文中根据连续方程和能量方程推导出新的涌潮波速公式,并与现场实测资料进行了比较,两者十分接近,说明新公式可以用来计算近岸浅水涌潮的传播速度,或用于研究与此相关的其它问题。

     

    Abstract: In this paper, bore propagation was theoretically analyzed at first. It was then pointed out that the well known formula of bore propagation speed couldn't be used if the water depth is very shallow in comparison with the height of the bore, even though the formula is derived from the conservation of mass and momentum. Therefore, a new formula was developed, based on the conservation of mass and energy. the calculated result agrees well with the measurement, so it can be concluded that the new formula can be used to compute bore propagation on a floodplain if the water depth is very shallow.
