Abstract: The status quo and existing problems of the energy dissipation measures for the downstream area of the draw-off culvert of Moguhu Reservoir are analyzed. Based on the hydraulic calculation and hydraulic model test of the horizontal diffusion plunge pool with vertical abutment walls, the improvement measure with a baffle sill at the end of the plunge pool is presented, and the energy dissipation is satisfied.
