Model test and numerical simulation of bed deformation under release of clear water

According to the model experiments of bed deformation process resulting from release of clear water, by the use of sediment continuity equation, introduced the concept of characteristic velocity reflecting instantaneous amount of scour and siltation, derived the equilibrium process equation of bed load transport. Furthermore, combined with the St. Venant equation for water-flow, bed deformation equation, numerical simulation of experimental results were carried out.
