Abstract: Based on increasing working cavitation number, measures for depressing valve lip cavitation are studied in this paper, which include optimization of valve opening time and program, modification of culvert shape in valve section, etc. Through theoretical analysis, most unfavorable valve operating speed concerning lip cavitation is deduced. The effect of aeration in valve section is also mentioned.
