Abstract: The design methods of the reinforced retaining wall are mainly based on the Rankine's earth pressure theory. In this paper, the apparent effective cohesion theory is used in limit analysis directly and the upper bound solutions of this kind of structure are obtained.Centrifuge test results indicate that the current design method gives conservative result while the upper bound solution has a good agreement with the test.
