Abstract:
The constitutive relation of high performance concrete (HPC) is compared with normal concrete (NSC) by tests of friction and antifriction in this paper. Compressive strength, peak compressive strains, compressive stress strain curves, elastic modulus, Poisson's ratio and first crack stresses of two kinds of concrete are analyzed and compared emphatically. It is shown that the elastic stage of HPC is longer and its elastic modulus is higher than those of NSC, but the peak compressive strains and the Poisson's ratio of them are similar, and their first crack stresses are all rather large. Furthermore, if antifriction is applied, the compressive strength of two kinds of concrete, the first crack stress and the elastic modulus of NSC are all decreased, but the first crack stress of HPC is higher than that of NSC, and the difference of elastic modulus between them is rather small.
