Abstract:
Chloride-induced corrosion of reinforcing bars is the leading cause of deterioration of reinforced concrete structures in marine environment. At the present time, the service life prediction and life-cycle cost analysis of reinforced concrete structures in chloride environment have become the priority research area. The definition of service life of reinforced concrete is discussed, and the recent development of service life evaluation of reinforced concrete structures in chloride environment is systematically summarized and reviewed. Finally, the direction for further work and problems to be solved are presented.
