Abstract:
In view of the poor characteristic of conventional all-vertical-piled wharf’s ability of resisting horizontal loads, this paper introduces a new type of structure named mudsill all-vertical-piled and high-piled wharf, which is researched by geotechnical model tests and numerical simulation tests. In the geotechnical model tests, similarity theory analysis is applied to make sure that the similarity parameters of the test model are obtained by using equation analysis and dimensional analysis. Then the model materials are choen by a series of prophase geotechnical model tests. For the above-mentioned works, wharf structure-piles-soil test under the horizontal displacement is conducted.By comparing the results of above two methods, the displacement, strain, bending moment and shearing force of the mudsill all-vertical-piled and high-piled wharf structure, and the shaft force of the beam and mooring beam are analyzed.Thereby, the horizon loading transfer rule of this new type of a single bent structure is discussed. The results show that the new type of structure has better resistance properties to horizontal load and can be used as a good reference for the design of similar projects.
